In his search for print materials to deconstruct, nothing is off limits, no matter its age, relative value or rarity. Madden’s analogue collages are mostly made from rare vintage materials sourced predominantly from the US. The obscure origins of the antique ephemera used to make these compositions adds to their uniqueness. They range in content from deceptively simple visual puns and juxtapositions to pieces with deeper social and political themes.
